I’ve read some of them and I have some opinions, for example losing weight with vegan: it’s slow moving, one can’t lose the weight only with vegan, at least not at the desired pace. Plus vegetarians and vegans are not changing to this lifestyle for losing weight but for changing lifestyle. Losing weight is just a secondary consequence.

Thanks for stopping by, Helena! I’ve heard from a lot of people about going vegan. And you’re right in that many people do it for reasons other than weight loss, and if that happens, it’s just a benefit for them. The first time I went on a vegan diet almost 20 years ago, I lost 10 pounds very quickly without even trying or knowing that would happen. But as time passed, it became harder for me to lose weight eating vegan, or any other diet for that matter — but I blame that more on my slower metabolism and wavering motivation to stick to an eating plan rather than on the food itself! If I stick to fruits and veggies, I lose weight. When I add pasta, bread and rice into the mix, I stop losing and start gaining. I will say that my husband tends to do better losing weight eating meat a couple times a week, so I guess everyone needs to figure out what works best for them.
