Here is what happened this week:
Week’s Weight Loss/Gain: Lost 3.0 pounds. Not as much as I wanted, but still not too bad.
Total Weight Loss to Date: Lost 11.0 pounds.
What I Ate: I stuck with the plan for the most part this week, eating mainly salads, veggie and fruit smoothies, quinoa, tofu and cooked mushrooms with vegetables. I went a little overboard with the nuts, and I did have some olive oil on my salads.
Did I Cheat? I should know better than to go shopping at Whole Foods on Saturdays around noon because that’s when they put out all of the food samples. Although I was able to pass up most of the snacks, I went a little crazy with the guacamole & chips, and totally lost control in the bread & cheese aisle. I’m pretty sure this is the reason I didn’t have better weight loss this week.
Did I Feel Hungry? No. Because this plan doesn’t limit portions, hunger isn’t a problem. Cravings, on the other hand, are another matter. For some reason this week I craved sourdough bread. I think eating gluten-free buns last week with the Spicy Bean Burgers triggered the craving. And that’s probably why I went hog wild with the bread & cheese samples at the grocery store.
Did I Exercise? I went to the gym 3 days this week. I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill, elliptical and bike. My motivation was low because it was so cold last week. I had a hard time getting myself out of the house, and once I was out, I couldn’t wait to get back home. Certainly not a stellar week for me in the exercise department, which I’m sure also contributed to less weight loss this week than I hoped for.
Any Problems Eating the Food? My only problem was a stuffy, runny nose after gorging on chips, bread and cheese at the grocery store.
How Am I Feeling in General? Really good. No complaints other than cabin fever due to the brutal cold this January. I need to get out of Dodge.
Will I Do Anything Differently This Week? Since this week will be my last on the weight loss phase of this plan, I’ll try my best to stick to the plan to see how close I can get to my 20 pound weight loss goal.
Check back on February 3rd for my final results after one month on Dr. Fuhrman’s Eat To Live plan.
